MATT RODDA attended his first Remembrance Sunday service as MP for Reading East on Sunday 12 November 2017.

Following a service held in the Minster Church of St. Mary The Virgin, Matt joined the Civic party in the Parade, which progressed through the town along Broad Street before passing the Saluting Dias on Market Place. The parade then continued to its destination at the Forbury Cenotaph where a short service took place.

A two-minute silence commenced the poignant service in front of the Cenotaph followed by wreath laying, with Matt presenting his poppy tribute to the Cenotaph steps on behalf of the constituency of Reading East.

 After the service, Matt said:

I am humbled to be here to represent the constituency of Reading East at this Service of Remembrance; my first as MP. Taking time to pause, contemplate and remember the lives of those who gave theirs is the very least we can do to honour such sacrifice; and I am proud to have laid a wreath in their memory here today.”
