Hopeful candidates seeking to become the next Labour prospective parliamentary candidate for the Reading West constituency attended a hustings selection event this weekend at The Pavilion on Oxford Road.

The successful candidate, Rachel Eden, was selected following a vote by Labour members from the Reading West seat. She is now due to become the Labour candidate for Reading West when the next General Election is called.

Matt Rodda, MP for the neighbouring Reading East constituency, congratulated Rachel and said:
“I am pleased that a candidate has been selected to represent Labour in the campaign to win Reading West. Rachel is a strong candidate, she has a proven track record of being a hard-working Reading Councillor, she is committed to standing up for local people, and I look forward to working with her.”
