I am delighted to share the news that the 22 Bus Route has been saved. This is a very important service which provides transport for older and disabled people, young people, and commuters.
In particular I’d like to thank the hundreds of residents in Caversham Heights who supported my campaign, completed my residents’ survey and who attended the public meeting. We have achieved something very significant for the community by working together and by working with the council.
During the campaign I wrote to residents, spoke with Reading Buses and Reading Borough Council, organised a public meeting, worked with your local councillor Jenny McGrother, and challenged the council and bus company to find a solution to keep the service.
I also wish to thank Reading Borough Council and the lead member for transport Cllr John Ennis for listening to local concerns and for intervening to save the service.
