I was thankful to my colleague Yuan Yang MP for securing a debate on financial sustainability in English football. The government’s Football Governance Bill is vital to ensuring responsible ownership of teams across the country, and avoiding a repeat of the mismanagement we have seen at Reading FC.
I supported the Bill, and once again called on Dai Yongge to speed up the sale of the club.
