This week I visited Reading Gaol and met the new owner.
It was interesting to see the inside of this incredible historic building, which contains so much heritage.
I am pleased that the new owner has said he does not want to build flats on the gaol, and I’m calling for the site to be used for arts and heritage.
Plans are at an early stage and I have called on him to discuss his ideas with Reading Borough Council and English Heritage.
