I remain extremely concerned about the actions of Reading FC’s current owner, and I have now written to the CEO of the EFL to ask that the EFL do everything within their power to intervene in this serious case and protect our club.

I am also working to secure another debate in parliament on the problems in football governance and the serious issues the Royals are facing.

The Government needs to create an independent football regulator that will help safeguard the future of clubs like Reading.

I am asking residents and supporters of the club to share their views on the regulations which should be included in the Football Governance Bill.
