Matt Rodda Member of Parliament for Reading East
Today marks the 80th anniversary of the People’s Pantry Bombing. 41 people lost their lives and many more were injured when the Pantry was bombed on the 10th of February 1943.
The People’s Pantry had been set up opposite the Town Hall as an emergency feeding centre offering cheap meals to help supplement rationed food.
I laid a wreath alongside The Mayor of Reading to pay tribute to all those who lost their lives in this senseless attack.
