It is a fundamental right of workers to withdraw their labour. During the recent strikes, trade unions have provided ‘life and limb’ cover to ensure that life saving activity is not affected by the strikes.

Rather than try and solve the current industrial disputes by restricting the right to strike through legislation, the Government should be meeting with unions and negotiating a settlement.
