This year’s flooding has been dramatic and shows the scale of what could happen if flood levels increase due to global warming. Large parts of the town were built on the flood plain and many residents could be affected by flooding in the future. • Flood prevention (including natural measures such as changing land use upstream as well as flood defence schemes

• More information, including on which areas are at risk and how to protect people and property
