Covid19 has put financial pressure on families and individuals across Reading East, and it has particularly affected families who were just about managing before the lockdown began. Many Reading charities have stepped up to meet these challenges.

I recently met with Trisha Bennett of Whitley CDA to talk about what they’re doing to help residents in Whitley. Trisha and her team run a food bank, advice shop and cafe in the heart of Whitley.

If you need to use the Whitley CDA advice shop or foodbank you can speak to one of the team on 0118 374 0052, or on 07799 146615. You can also contact my office for any advice on mattroddampcasework@parliament.uk

To donate or volunteer with Whitley CDA please follow the link: https://whitley-cda.org/we-need-you/

I will be spotlighting charities in Reading, Whitley, Woodley, Earley and Caversham over the summer to recognise their vital work.
