I am opposed to Boris Johnson’s deal, which as Jeremy Corbyn, and the TUC have said, is far worse that Theresa May’s deal.

I’m particularly concerned about the Government’s plans to move to a free trade relationship between the UK and EU if Britain left the bloc. This weaker relationship with the EU could lead to significant damage to the economy and a major loss of rights at work and dilution of environmental and consumer protection.

The damage this weaker relationship could do was set out in the Treasury’s own analysis. I think it is dreadful that a UK Government could come up with a plan which will harm the interests of British people in this way.

I am continuing to press for a second referendum, and I believe that Labour is right to call for this to be a choice between a very jobs-first Brexit deal and staying in the EU.

I would campaign to remain in the EU in a second referendum.
