Matt Rodda MP campaigning for access to Post Offices
Matt Rodda MP campaigning for access to Post Offices

It was good to be able to attend a meeting about saving our Post Offices which was held in Parliament, then hand over a petition to No10 Downing Street.
Reading Post Office is being moved into the upstairs of W H Smiths in Broad Street, despite concerns that this is too small and that the town needs a proper crown post office. I am also concerned about disabled access as the current lifts may be too small for some disabled access.
Caversham sub post office has also closed due to the Day Lewis Pharmacy where it was based shutting down. I think it is important that there is a new sub post office.
I’ve been raising these issues in Parliament and I have met the postal services Minister.
I joined the post office staff union and other MPs to raise these concerns and to point out how Post Offices are a vital local service which needs to be at the heart of local communities.
