The Reading East MP, Matt Rodda, attended a ceremony last Friday, to mark the official re-opening of the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Firehouse in Reading after an extensive improvement programme.
The Firehouse, which has undergone refurbishment over the summer, is a key training facility in Berkshire, giving local firefighters the opportunity to train in conditions that are as realistic as possible, including simulating fires in houses and commercial buildings.
Matt was pleased to visit the newly refurbished Firehouse and to hear about the recent improvements it has undergone, including an upgrade of the control systems and a reconfiguration of the internal layout.
Matt said: “I was delighted to attend the opening of this fantastic local facility which will provide state of the art training opportunities for our local firefighters who work hard to perform a vital service for our community.”
