Matt Rodda MP met with Alzheimer’s Society in Parliament to find out more about the key issues affecting people with dementia in Reading East, and to support their latest campaign to raise awareness of the importance of diagnosis.

Matt said, “I am grateful to the Alzheimer’s Society for raising awareness of dementia. It is estimated that there are over 5,000 people living with dementia in the West Berkshire area.”

“Age is the biggest risk factor for dementia, so with an aging population it is important we continue to make progress on the diagnosis rate of dementia. Receiving a diagnosis of dementia can help someone to understand the symptoms they are experiencing and to receive the information, care and support they need to be able to live well and plan for their future.”
