READING EAST MP Matt Rodda attended the Microsoft exhibition stand at the Labour Party Conference in Brighton.

Microsoft, whose UK Headquarters are based in Matt’s Reading East constituency, boast a workforce of over 3,500 personnel at its Thames Valley Park cluster of offices.

Showcasing their latest innovation in the MRT (Mixed Reality Technology) sector, the HoloLens is the first fully self-contained, holographic computer, enabling the wearer to interact with high-definition holograms in their world.

Using multiple sensors, advanced optics, and a custom holographic processing unit- the HoloLens enables the wearer to go beyond the basics of conventional screens and enter a sensory and tactile environment with a multitude of real-life applications.

Highly impressed with this new technology, Matt said:

Cutting-edge innovations in the technology sector such as the HoloLens are proof indeed that Microsoft are pushing the frontiers of virtual reality. Integrating new and exciting products such as these within industry-based applications is the way forward in business, helping organisations to discover, create and imagine new ways of working -; and bringing those new ideas to life. With such a wealth of expertise right on our doorstep here in Reading East, I look forward to discovering more about Microsoft’s work here in the Thames Valley.”
