MATT RODDA JOINS READING’S MUSLIM COMMUNITY FOR

EID-AL-ADHA

MATT RODDA MP was invited to join the Muslim community of Reading East on Friday morning as they celebrated the start of Eid-Al-Adha; the second of the Eid festivals in the Muslim holy calendar.

Eid-Al-Adha signifies the end of the annual Hajj to Mecca, the fifth and final pillar of Islam. Large family meals and the exchanging of gifts often follow prayers, and Eid-Al-Adha is regarded as an important time for charity work, with many gifts and offerings to benefit those in greatest need.

Matt said:

I deeply value the contributions our Muslim community make to Reading and Woodley, and I appreciate being asked to join them for the second Eid. I would like to wish them all a happy and prosperous Eid-Al-Adha.”
