­­I am concerned by the effects of Britain leaving the EU and I am calling for a close relationship between the UK and the European Union. I believe a key part of this is to stand up for the rights of EU residents and their families and I would like to you, as an EU resident in Reading, to complete this survey.

Like many people I was saddened when Britain left the EU at the end of January. The effect of this is often deeply personal and has left some people feeling isolated and sometimes anxious about the future.

Concerns have also been raised about the Settled Status Scheme, including:

• The understandable frustration of having to apply to stay in the UK after living here for many years
• Those who face difficulties proving the length of time they have lived in the UK
• Concerns about being able to bring dependent children or elderly relatives from the EU in the future

I am keen to speak about these issues in Parliament and want to raise local concerns with the Government.
