It was good to be able to attend Reading's conservation area committee with residents and community groups.
The committee is an innovative new partnership between the council and residents which is working to protect our conservation areas from unwanted development.
It was set up to help protect Reading's historic Victorian and Georgian neighbourhoods which are under real pressure from developers and from a minority of landlords.
The committee is helping the council record historic features to help protect them.
It was good to be able to listen to residents' views and put them in touch with the relevant council staff to help deal with problems.
