Walking & Cycling Bridge

cyclingbridge.jpg

It was good to see the new walking and cycling bridge open on 30th September, linking Caversham and Reading town centre.

Around 100 people took part in the ceremony, with children from the Heights Primary School helping Mayor Sarah Hacker and transport lead Cllr Tony Page cut the ribbon and officially open the new bridge.

Residents queued up to cross the bridge with construction workers and walkers and cyclists, even including a tandem and a child on a scooter!

I attended to show my support, with Abbey Labour councillor Bet Tickner.
