In a constituency-based day of visits which focussed on children, education and young people, Reading East MP Matt Rodda visited the Head and Governing Body at Thameside Primary School.

In addition to discussing the variety of challenges faced by the school, Matt listened to details of the excellent work done by teaching and support staff -; especially with regard to meeting the additional complex needs of some pupils.

Matt had a tour of the facilities and stopped by a literacy class where the children were being taught how to form their basic letter shapes through an interactive smart-board.

He said:

“Thameside is a great school which, under the leadership of Helen Wallace has gone from strength to strength. It was really insightful to observe some of their classes and see the children being able to take part in a variety of ways so that pupils of all abilities were included. I look forward to visiting them again soon.”
