READING EAST MP Matt Rodda is keen to help preserve the historic features of Reading wherever possible, and it is with this in mind that he attended a meeting with local residents in the Northcourt Avenue area of town. Matt listened to their concerns regarding the current proposals to develop St. Patricks Hall at the University of Reading.

The site at St. Patricks Hall immediately looks out onto residential development at Northcourt Avenue, and residents there feel that the proposed plans would not be in keeping with the neighbourhood. It is felt that the current plans would have a considerable impact in changing the nature and feel of the area. Matt shares the concerns of residents and has sent a letter of objection to the Planning Officer at Reading Borough Council to place on record his thoughts and opinions whilst at the same time urging the University to consider alternative proposals.
