Matt Rodda for Reading East

Standing up for Reading

About Matt

Matt is a Councillor for Katesgrove Ward and the Labour Party Parliamentary Candidate for Reading East in 2017.

He believes in fairness for all, in high quality public services and in an economy which works for everyone, not just a lucky few.

Matt was a civil servant in the Department for Education and joined the Labour Party after being impressed with the improvements in education which were delivered by the last Labour Government. He now works in the University sector.

Matt has lived in Reading for 18 years, and is married with two children at a local school.

As a Councillor he has pushed for positive change in the community, including helping to save Reading's Stepping Stones centre for disabled adults from closure and also fought to get all the staff working at the town's University paid the living wage.

Mat writes "I am delighted and honoured to have been selected as the Labour parliamentary candidate in Reading East and I'm looking forward to the campaign ahead. Labour came a close second in 2015 and we can win the seat in this snap election".
